Unified Communications (UC) is not a single product.  It is a number of products integrated to create a customer solution.

The elements/functions of UC solution cover a range of capabilities -- not all of which are in every vendor’s portfolio, and not all of the functions and features will be appropriate for every enterprise. The majority of UC solutions include:

  • PBX features
  • Voice services
  • Voice conferencing
  • Unified messaging


The more advance UC solutions also include:

  • Instant messaging
  • Mobility (cellular and Wi-Fi) capabilities
