Voice over Wireless IP (VoWIP)
Voice over wireless telephone solutions allow calls to be made and taken anywhere - saving time, improving customer service and increasing employee safety. There are two technology solutions one based on Wi-Fi (Polycom SpectraLink) and one based on DECT (Polycom KIRK). The Wi-Fi technology solution is often referred to as Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi). |

Polycom SpectraLink (Wi-Fi solution)
SpectraLink wireless telephone solutions deliver on-site mobility using a converged voice and data Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Polycom KIRK (IP DECT solution)
KIRK wireless telephone solutions deliver on-site mobility using a dedicated wireless infrastructure.
SpectraLink vs KIRK KIRK IP DECT solutions have advantages over SpectraLink Wi-FI solutions and some are directly compatible with the Microsoft Lync unified communications (UC) solution. DECT solutions deliver all that is expected of mobile Voice over Wireless IP (VoWIP). They are easily scalable and often are less expensive than a Wi-Fi solution.
