Sending text messages
MESSAGEmanager SMS works exactly like email. Click on the SMS address, enter the message and send. No additional software is required on the desktops.
Receiving Text Messages
SMS messages are received in a mailbox and can be read like email.
Features
MESSAGEmanager SMS provides for;
- Including message fields - You can include sender, subject and signature fields in the message
- Sending a reply number - The signature field can be used to include a mobile phone number for replies
- SMS alerts - MESSAGEmanager can send SMS notifications of important time critical information - such as triggered email, fax and voice mail messages, task and calendar alerts.
- Routing of messages to mailboxes or applications - Messages can be routed to individual users inbox if an SMPP service is available note 1
- Access to message parameters - Received message parameters are stored in the MESSAGEmanger receive database which includes
- the number dialed by the sender
- the sender's phone number
- date and time received,
- channel number
- text file attachment with SMS message contents.
- Redirection - Messages sent via SMS providers can be redirected back to a host application or mailbox provided the reply has been received within 24 hours of the original message transmission.
note 1: SMPP services provided by Carriers offer multiple MSISDNs, i.e. phone numbers which can be used to redirect inbound SMS messages to a user's inbox or applications.
